Spike Jones, Jr. Tapped to Executive Produce 2010 Writers Guild Awards’ West Coast Show
LOS ANGELES -- Producer/director Spike Jones, Jr. has been tapped by the Writers Guild of America, West to executive produce its upcoming 2010 Writers Guild Awards’ West Coast show set for Saturday, February 20, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel.
A prolific producer/director of entertainment industry awards shows, Jones and his SJ2 Entertainment’s producing credits include the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards (E! Entertainment) for the past 15 years, the 2007 and 2006 Independent Spirit Awards Red Carpet pre-show (WE), Spike TV’s Video Game Awards After Bash, the first annual TV Land Awards Red Carpet Arrivals, as well as executive producing and directing the Writers Guild Awards’ West Coast ceremonies in 2004 (televised on Starz-Encore – the first time in Guild history when WGA ceremonies were telecast) and 2003.
Also returning as part of Jones’ creative team for the WGAW’s 2010 Writers Guild Awards L.A.-based show is in-demand talent producer Carole Propp, whose credits include The Tony Awards for the past six years, the Primetime Emmy Awards (three years), the Creative Arts Emmy Awards for the past six years, Saturday Night at the Movies for the past nine years, Soul Train Awards (five years), several previous Writers Guild Awards’ L.A. ceremonies (2009, 2006, and 2005), and currently In the House with Peter Bart and Peter Guber.
