Aim High

Later in 2011, Aim High, a Web-only dramatic series, will make its debut on Facebook (for USA Facebook members only). A co-production of film director McG (Terminator Salvation) and Warner Bros., Aim High stars Jackson Rathbone from the Twilight saga and Aimee Teegarden from Friday Night Lights.
INTERACTIVE PROJECT

ITVS Interactive
The Independent Television Service sponsors a series of immersive online games and interactive narratives that address environmental and social issues on a global or personal scale. ITVS, in turn, is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Projects include Beyond the Fire: Teen Experiences of War; World Without Oil; and Deep Down, The Virtual Mine.
 


BLOGS

The Bioscope
The Bioscope is a blog that serves as an information resource on the subject of cinema before sound. The focal point is its extensive list of Web sites, podcasts, and online archives that explore the world of pre-talkie films.

City of Sound
City of Sound is European designer and urban planner Dan Hill’s blog that offers news and significant insights on the future of global cities as well as current urban trends.
 


PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES

ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive
The Hollywood branch of the International Animated Film Association offers its animation archive online. It serves as a primary information resource for animation professionals and an entertaining celebration of animation history for animation fans.

Visual.ly
Visual.ly is aimed at infographics designers and publishers. For non-professionals, the visuals can be entertaining.

Architzer
Architizer is an online social networking community where architecture professionals can showcase projects and portfolios, and share information on upcoming competitions and jobs.

INCIDENTAL COMICS
Colorado cartoonist Grant Snider offers a beautifully drawn and intelligent collection of his comics.
 


PORTFOLIO

Tony D’Orio
Chicago photographer Tony D’Orio’s photo portfolio is presented online in a beautiful and original interactive format.
 


ZINE

2THEWALLS.COM
Multimedia artist Keehnan Konyha describes his online journal 2THEWALLS.COM as “attempts to examine decoration outside the constructs of style, taste, and era.” The zine is mostly a gorgeous collection of photographic art with a focus on cultural and design topics.
