Will Berson is a native New Yorker, living in Los Angeles since 2001. He’s written for several shows, including Scrubs and Amy Poehler’s The Mighty B! In 2010 he developed a pilot with David Milch about the founding and coeducation of the Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1893. Currently he’s working with George Saunders to adapt his favorite short story of the author’s into a pilot, and he’s pitching a modernized King Lear set inside Big Pharma with Edward James Olmos attached to star.
He’s an ensemble member/resident playwright in Teatro de Facto, an LA-based theater company founded by Zach Helm. His play Most Excellent Fancy was shortlisted for New York Stage and Film’s Founders Award in 2010. He has guest lectured on pilot writing at Occidental College in Los Angeles and occasionally teaches and performs at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.
