Diarra Kilpatrick is a native Detroiter. She studied drama at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Diarra is the creator and star of the Web series American KoKo. She’s also an award-winning actress, having garnered a host of theater awards and nominations including LA Weekly, LA Drama Critics Circle, NAACP, and Ovation. She also received an NAACP Theater Award nomination for Best Playwriting for her one woman show. Acting TV/film work includes Mike and Molly, Southland, Private Practice, and Lila and Eve. She’s a staff writer on NBC’s Mysteries of Laura.
