To celebrate Women's History Month, the WGAW Committee of Women Writers (CWW) invites you to attend a special screening of the classic workplace comedy 9 to 5, written by Patricia Resnick, starring Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. Prior to the film, the committee will premiere a short video called "Women Who Wrote The Way" featuring inspiring female writers discussing key moments in their careers. A Q&A with Patricia Resnick follows the film screening, moderated by CWW co-chair, WGA and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures). Reception follows.

Our March guest will be career coach Joanna Sucherman, discussing the challenges of transitioning your writing career to another genre. In an industry that "pigeonholes" creatives, and many hold lingering perceptions, Sucherman will address questions on how to make the transition while rebranding yourself for greater marketability. NOTE: WGAW does not endorse or promote any approach, method, theory, or system of screenwriting, nor endorse or promote any individual teacher or school, regarding career advice. The regular Career Longevity Committee (CLC) meeting follows the seminar. CLC's mission is to assist writers of all ages in planning for long and successful careers by giving them the tools and knowledge to adapt to changes in the marketplace.
