Staffing Season Is Always Now 4

Staffing is year-round these days, but network staffing begins in March with the big push in late May once shows are picked up. WGAW's Diversity Department and its American Indian Writers, Asian American Writers, Latino Writers, LGBT Writers, and Writers with Disabilities Committees host an informative, motivational panel where executive producers/writers discuss what they're looking for in writing samples and in writers — from script tone, to tone of your voice in meetings. Gain insight on how to brush up your material and yourselves, and get inspired to create a new spec that gets noticed, and more importantly, gets you hired. Panelists: Carly Mensch & Elizabeth Flahive (Glow), Tom Kapinos (White Famous), Robia Rashid (Atypical), Krista Vernoff (Grey's Anatomy) and more TBA. Moderator: Spiro Skentzos (Arrow). To celebrate Women's History Month, the Committee of Women Writers (CWW) joins with Guild Screenings to invite you to a special screening of Something's Gotta Give, written and directed by Nancy Meyers, starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton. A perennial bachelor who only dates much younger women finds himself falling in love with his girlfriend's mother, a successful divorceé resistant to his typically foolproof charms. Q&A follows with Nancy Meyers, moderated by Hallie Meyers-Shyer. CWW then premieres "Breaking Good" short film, featuring inspiring female writers discussing key moments in their careers.
