WGAW Writers with Disabilities Committee (WDC) hosts a panel and Q&A with writers who have helped broaden film and television landscape to include a frequently overlooked component of diversity. As 50 million Americans currently live with disabilities and the demographic grows, the responsibility of content creators to incorporate them, both in front of and behind the camera, increases in urgency. If the best characters in storytelling are those who face great challenges, disability is a formidable asset for every writer's toolbox.
