FREE BANDAID CONCERT TO BENEFIT INDUSTRY SUPPORT FUND TOMORROW NIGHT, FRIDAY, 2/1/08

Dear Fellow Members:

I am a strike captain. Every day, I speak with writers, actors and many of our other supporters. These brave folks walk the line, never losing their faith or their resolve to get us all a fair deal.

I desperately wanted to give something back to all those who have sacrificed so much. A night off to listen to live music, dance and be free. So I just started asking, hey – will you help me? Phil Alden Robinson and the Screenwriters Committee stepped up immediately. All four bands are donating their artistry to the cause. Busby's East has graciously lent us their venue. This really is a labor of love for writers, by writers.

It was important to me that there be no cover charge, so that all who attend, especially those feeling the pinch after almost three months of striking, could come out and enjoy a much-deserved night off for FREE.

WGA writers created the Industry Support Fund to benefit all those non-writers directly affected by the strike, especially our assistants and below-the-line crew. All donations taken at the door will go directly into the Fund. So this free night out is not only a gift to writers and their guests, but to the entire entertainment community.

There are truly so many unsung heroes out there, whose efforts may never be known. This evening is for all of us. Hope to see you there tomorrow night.

With great admiration,

Katherine Fugate
