Politics, Policy Year-End Wrap-Up
As the Guild tallies electoral wins and policy initiatives, the forecast for 2013 looks good -- with more work to
be done.
Election Day 2012 represented another step forward for the WGAW's political and public policy work on behalf of writers. Of the 21 candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives endorsed by the WGAW PAC, 19 were successful in their bids for elective office. Additionally, California Proposition 32, on which the PAC recommended a "no" vote, was defeated. As the Guild continues to work on legislative and regulatory issues that affect the creative and economic interests of WGAW members, we have a growing list of allies to work with. Read more

The WGAW's Gay & Lesbian Writers Committee recently staged its 8th annual evening of staged readings of LGBT-themed scenes from members' unproduced scripts. Selections this year were written by Brad Bauner, Gary Goldstein, Kellie Griffin, Philip Pierce, Jennifer Ralston, D.J. Richardson, David Rothmiller, Scotty-Miguel Sandoe, Daniel Vaillancourt & David A. Lee, and Thomas Wong. Photo Gallery
