Dawn Comer Jefferson

Dawn Comer Jefferson started her career as a fellow in the Walt Disney Writers Program. Soon after, she was nominated for an Emmy Award for co-writing, Our Friend, Martin, starring James Earl Jones, John Travolta, and Susan Sarandon for Fox/DIC Entertainment. Dawn spent several seasons writing on the CBS series, Judging Amy, served as writer/consulting producer on TeenNick’s South of Nowhere and developed a drama pilot for Tartikoff/Ebersol at NBC Universal Studios. Most recently, Dawn optioned the feature script, Cheerless, to Moontide Pictures. Dawn is also co-editor of the nonfiction book, Three Ring Circus: How Real Couples Balance Marriage, Work, and Family (Seal Press), and has written extensively in print and online about public policy, children and families. She’s married to a rocket scientist (really) who navigates deep space missions for NASA and has two little daughters who like to pitch story ideas to her.
