Gloria Calderón Kellett
Minority Writers

Gloria Calderón Kellett's parents came to the United States from Cuba during the Kennedy Administration's Operation Pedro Pan (Never heard of it? Look it up, it's awesome!). Having escaped communist oppression, they encouraged their daughter to express herself. And that's just what she did. She began as a playwright, but quickly transitioned to television writing on such shows as How I Met Your Mother for three seasons (during which she won an Alma Award for Outstanding Script), Rules of Engagement, Devious Maids, and currently the new ABC series Mixology. Gloria completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola Marymount University and has a Masters degree in Theatre from the University of London. She is a founding member of the sketch comedy group And Donkey Makes Five and has written and performed stand-up comedy at The Improv and The Comedy Store. She lives in Los Angeles with her cartoonist husband, Dave Kellett and their two children.
