Deborah hails from Berkeley, California, where she grew up in a commune…then again, who from Berkeley hasn’t grown up in a commune. Initially a performer and playwright, Deborah’s works have been produced around the country including workshops at the Public Theatre, the Williamstown Theater Festival, Lincoln Center and New York Theatre Workshop. She is also a Sundance Fellowship recipient for her critically acclaimed Off-Broadway play, Hundreds of Sisters & One BIG Brother. In television, Deborah has co-written a pilot with Walter Mosley for FX, has written on American Dreams (NBC), Cracking Up (FOX), Single Ladies (VH1) and was a Writers Guild Award nominee for her writing on the Disney Channel’s That’s So Raven. Deborah was additionally a 2013 Finalist for Humanitas “New Voices,” a 2013 Finalist for the Disney/ABC Writing Fellowship and Winner of the 2013 Austin Film Festival Pitch Contest.
