Ursula Wendel

Fluent in French and a dual U.S./Canadian citizen, Ursula graduated from the University of Alberta, then earned a Master’s Degree from the Universite de la Sorbonne in Paris, France. After studying abroad, she moved to the States and began work in television as a writers' assistant, eventually working her way up to staff writer on numerous network dramas, including the Emmy Award-winning David E. Kelley series, Picket Fences.

In 2011, Ursula was a WGAW TV Writer Access Project honoree for her period drama pilot Ruby Fair, about a Depression-era Western Swing musician in small town Texas. The script was well received and went on to place quarterfinalist in the 2013 Final Draft Big Break Contest. In 2016, Ursula was again a TV Writer Access Project honoree for her sci-fi pilot Hemisphere. It previously advanced to the second round at the Austin Film Festival, along with a feature screenplay, and scored high on The Black List.
