Born and raised in central Pennsylvania, Matthew White fled the family farm for the Big Apple to attend NYU, racking up a healthy list of “real jobs” along his road to the writers’ room—including English sensei in Tokyo and midnight-shift bellboy. He got his showbiz start in “late night” as a Cue Card Guy for SNL, Letterman, Leno, and Conan before breaking into the scripted realm. As script coordinator, Matthew relocated to Malaysia for season one of the historical epic Marco Polo (Netflix). There, he earned priceless production experience in getting a new $100-million series off the ground. Elevated to writer on Polo seasons two (and three), he has since written on Happy! (Syfy) and Iron Fist 2 (Marvel). An avid traveler, snowboarder, and mid-century modern furniture hoarder, Matthew is a big fan of Los Feliz, where he resides with Zuma, his tarantula and soul mate of 11 years.
