Broken Promises details the harms of five recent mergers to consumers and labor.

The WGAW recently released Broken Promises: Media Mega-Mergers and the Case for Antitrust Reform, a report on how media companies continue to get bigger, more profitable, and more powerful, while writers and consumers pay the price. Time and again, our employers have received government approval to buy their competitors by promising lower prices, more choices and better products for consumers, only to deliver fewer choices, higher prices, worse working conditions, and layoffs. Here for Your Support Staff Needs

New WGF program trains emerging writers from underrepresented groups for assistant and script coordinator roles.

Last spring, TV writers and WGAW members Tanya Saracho, Mike Royce, and Liz Hsiao Lan Alper teamed up with the Writers Guild Foundation to launch the Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program, an initiative that provides writers who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, or over the age of 50 with tools and education to become a writers’ assistant and script coordinator.
