Members reflect on TV writer John Bowman’s career and WGAW legacy.

John Bowman, longtime WGAW member and chair of the WGA contract negotiating committee during the 2007–2008 strike, died December 28 at the age of 64. After learning of his death, the media, social and otherwise, was filled with loving tributes from members of the entertainment community he’d worked with over the years, citing his kindness, humor, talent, and mentoring skills. Understanding the Additional Literary Material Credit

Guidance on the recent change to screen credits rules.

Last November, WGA members approved a referendum to the screen credits rules, allowing an Additional Literary Material (ALM) credit for writers who do not otherwise receive credit for WGA-covered writing services on theatrical features. This rule went into effect at the start of this year, giving many writers a new opportunity to be listed in end credits and see their ALM credits listed in major industry databases. Learn more >>
