Informational Session on MRC & Rideback TV Incubator (RTI)

Join Rideback TV Incubator (RTI) Executive Director Elsie Choi; MRC VP of Development, Jed Valdecantos; and 2019 RTI Producer/Mentor Amy Berg for an overview and Q&A about the Rideback TV Incubator, now launching its 2020 session. The MRC x Rideback TV Incubator offers a paid, six-month residency program to a curated group of five television writers who want to create their own premium cable/streaming drama series. Each Creator will receive a $200K fee, which will be paid weekly over the course of the program. With a focus on inclusion, the program aims to develop the next generation of television creators from underrepresented groups including but not limited to women, people of color, LGBTQ, socioeconomic background, disability and age. WGAW members only.

Info: (323) 782-4589. The Writers Guild of America West's LGBTQ+ Writers Committee seeks to utilize its constituency as a resource to all writers who include LGBTQ+ characters in their work. Its members also wish to provide cultural and educational opportunities for WGAW members to nurture an understanding of how sexual orientation and gender identity affect the lives of writers; endeavor to provide networking and social activities enabling the WGAW membership to better know one another and create a greater demand for the writing services of LGBTQ+ WGAW members; and strive to generate a greater awareness within the Guild of sexual orientation (and gender identity) as a minority and, where appropriate, to identify and advocate against instances of homophobia, transphobia and/or discrimination within our industry.

Not easy in a city like LA, but hey, the weather is great! The WGAW Career Longevity Committee's Seasoned Readings series promotes and celebrates the work of writers age 50 and over.
