Patrons can visit the library by appointment only, with proof of vaccination and booster.

The Writers Guild Foundation Shavelson-Webb Library is reopening on June 1, by appointment only.

“We are so happy to be welcoming patrons back and cultivating a peaceful and studious place to learn the craft and get work done, and to be able to fulfill our mission and purpose of providing access to all who want to hone their craft,” says Archivist Hilary Swett.

To enter the library, patrons must be fully vaccinated and have had at least one booster shot. Proof of vaccination and booster will be required to enter. Patrons can book up to two months ahead, and appointments can be made using the Library Appointment Scheduler. Walk-ins will not be accommodated, and opening day, June 1, is already fully booked.

“I'd also like to remind library users that while our collection is robust, we do not have every script ever written,” says librarian Lauren O’Connor. “We get nearly all the awesome materials in the library from writers like yourselves. While we do our best to keep the collection up to date and are always adding new titles, we might not have exactly the script you're looking for.

“To avoid potential disappointment on the day of your visit, I urge you to do a search of our online catalog. Also, if there's something you'd like to see added to the library's collection, e-mail us. We're always open to suggestions.”
