The Hollywood Commission recently launched its second Entertainment Survey, aimed at giving a voice to entertainment industry workers while providing the community with crucial insight surrounding the progress made in the past five years toward meaningful systemic change. The survey is now live at hollywoodentertainmentsurvey.org.

WGAW members are encouraged to participate in this survey, which is open through November 27.

The survey is completely anonymous—you will not be asked for any personal information, and any identifying information that you do provide will be scrubbed by an independent third party before it is submitted to the Hollywood Commission. The WGAW will not see any individual responses.

The WGAW is a member of the Hollywood Commission, joining 25 other guilds, unions, companies, and agencies in a shared commitment to ending discrimination, harassment, bullying, and abuse in the entertainment industry.

In 2019–20, the Hollywood Commission conducted its first survey of 9,630 entertainment workers in television and film, commercials, live theater, music, broadcast news, talent representation, public relations, and corporate settings.

With a goal of 20,000 responses—double the participation of the first survey—the new survey builds on the results of that groundbreaking work. When the results are tabulated, the commission expects to learn which strategies are providing an impact toward cultural change, and where systems can be improved. Survey responses will focus the Hollywood Commission’s efforts over the next several years, informing the issues that it will elevate for the community and pinpointing where the organization will prioritize its resources.
