The staff of the Residuals Department have adapted quickly to continue to work hard for you.

There are four areas of the Residuals Department: Policing, Collections, Estates & Trusts, and Processing. For the most part, the core functions of Collections, Policing, and Estates & Trusts are being done remotely, since department staff have virtual access to the Guild’s various internal systems and databases, a good internet connection, and email.

Check processing, however, cannot be done at home and LA County allows employees who are doing this type of financial transaction to report to a workspace. County ordinance allows essential business to go forward. Following social distancing protocols, a skeleton crew of Residuals staff is now going to the office twice a week in order to process the incoming residuals checks and get them out the door. Check flow is typically lower this time of year and the Residuals Department expedited check processing in the two days before the office closure in order to get as many checks out the door as possible. The next big influx of quarterly checks is due on May 30 but until then, barring any mandated changes, residuals checks will continue to be mailed to members.

Residuals staff is available every weekday to answer inquiries. While sending an email to Residuals is the best method of communication at this time, members can also leave voicemail messages at the department’s main number 323-782-4700 and calls will be returned within one to two days.
